Scratch Messiah at St Mary’s Church, Welwyn
After a two-year break, a scratch ‘Messiah’ will return to Welwyn St Mary’s Church as part of Welwyn Festival Fortnight. It will take place on Sunday 17th June with chorus rehearsals from 2.30 – 5.30 pm followed by high tea in Church House and a concert from 6.30 – 9.00 pm. Once again, the Musical Director will be Derek Harrison with Linden Innes-Hopkins as organist. Singers of all abilities are welcome and scores will be provided.
Singer and audience tickets are £10 (those in full-time education are free). All profits will be split between the festival charities and St Mary’s Preservation Fund. Tickets and booking forms are available at Hill’s Violin Shop in Welwyn High Street (opening hours Monday – Saturday 9 am – 5 pm, closed for lunch 12.30 – 1.30 pm, Sat 12.30 – 2 pm). Please note Hill’s can only accept cash or a cheque payable to ‘Welwyn St Mary’s PCC’
The event can take up to 100 chorus members and have in the past had to turn people away, so do please sign up as soon as you can.
