Held annually since 1974, the Welwyn Festival is held in June every year, raising thousands of pounds for local projects and charities.
The Street Market is held on the morning of the first Saturday of Welwyn Festival Week, in Codicote Road next to St Mary’s Church. Various other events, such as art exhibitions, take place throughout the village and local pubs usually have special menus.
At the other end of the week, starting at the southern end of the village, the costume parade begins its march north through the High Street at 1pm and continues past the church towards to Singlers Marsh off Fulling Mill Lane, to herald the start of the Family Fun Day.
