Corona-virus Update

We are so sorry to announce that the 2020 Welwyn Festival is cancelled due to the Covid 19 outbreak. Although we very much hope that the situation in the UK will have improved enormously by the end of June, nothing is certain, so we have made the difficult decision to cancel all events.

About Us

Held annually since 1974, the Welwyn Festival has grown from Welwyn Festival Week to ten days of celebration in June every year, raising thousands of pounds for local projects and charities.

The Street Market is held in the morning of the first Saturday of Welwyn Festival Week, in Codicote Road next to St Mary’s Church. Various other events, such as art exhibitions, are on throughout the village and local pubs usually have special menus.

At the other end of the week, starting at the southern end of the village, the costume parade begins its march north through the High Street at 1pm and continues past the church towards to Singlers Marsh off Fulling Mill Lane, to herald the start of the Family Fun Day.
