We are pleased to announce a 2021 Mini Welwyn Festival with safe socially distanced events, see our events page for details

Charities 2021

Unfortunately, we were unable to go ahead with any 2020 events. This year we are running a scaled down, 'Mini' Welwyn Festival.

We hope to go ahead as normal in 2022.

The charities to be supported this year subject to raising sufficient
funds of course will be:

Platypus Swimming Club

The Dementia Friendly Community Cafe, Digswell

hyh - herts young homeless

Samaritans Herts

CAB Welwyn

Parkinsons Welwyn Hatfield

If you would like to help these local charities by donating, please visit our donations page for how to donate: www.welwynfestival.org/donate

The good news is that since lockdown we have been able to donate just over £8,000 to
charities. This was helped by Welwyn Festival Float Team and Garden City
Runners and Welwyn Festival Charities.

The charities who benefitted were: -

The Mixed Group, Samaritans Herts, Herts Young Homeless, CAB Welwyn,
Kids in Action

Dates for 2021 are Friday 25th June – Sunday 3rd July 2021

The Welwyn Festival was started in 1974. Its main purpose is to bring local people together to enjoy and participate in a wide variety of events and activities to enjoy being part of the community and to support and money for local charities.  Each year the committee work hard to make sure we include as many different activities as we can to generate money for the good causes we support.

In 2019 our charities were:

The Welwyn Centenary Schools Bulb and Tree project
Ware Samaritans
Home Instead Dementia café
Herts Young Homeless
Herts Disabled Cricket
Welwyn Fernery Group
Jubilee House
Herts Air Ambulance
Welwyn Citizens Advice

We also gave further support from the proceeds of the Santa Rounds supporting Herts Young Homeless, The Mixed Group and the Samaritans

In total we gave away £16k – this included a significant contribution from the Welwyn 10K run.

The charities are put forward by the committee, or can contact us directly to ask if we can support them.
