25th June - 3rd July

Although its only February, we are happy to announce we are starting to plan this years Festival, along with some other events for the village. The main Festival week is Saturday 25th June and runs until Sunday 3rd July.

We will be holding all your favourite events, such as Street Market, Fun Day, Open Gardens, a raffle plus many others.

Before the main Festival, keep an eye out for information on Welwyn's 'Queen's Platinum Jubilee party' information, and other local events.

Please check our events page on this website, our Facebook page and the 'Welwyn Village News' Facebook  page, for updates.

We have been informed of the sad news that Shirley Guy, a founder member of the current incarnation of Welwyn Festival back in 1999/2000, died from Covid on Sunday 17th January having been taken ill over Christmas.

When the Round Table decided they could no longer organise the Festival after over two decades in 1998, a group of people from local organisations that did not want to see it stop, got together to keep some elements of the Week going. Shirley was part of the new team and worked hard to ensure that the festival continued.

Money is still coming in but we didn’t want to wait to share the funds to this year’s charities and voluntary groups! Last week, the Festival committee presented cheques to local charities, pictured below:
